Cosmas Kimario is the Group Regional Businesses Director, KCB Group PLC with effect from January 25, 2023.
Cosmas is a seasoned banker with over 25 years of experience in Finance and Treasury. He is known for his proven track record of success in managing financial and commodity derivatives, corporate treasury teams and other financial divisions.
With a wealth of experience in Treasury and Derivative Sales, gained while working across Citigroup USA, London in the UK, Lagos in Nigeria, Dakar in Senegal, Nairobi in Kenya and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, Cosmas has a deep understanding of the global financial markets. His ability to develop complex financial instruments is a testament to his expertise. Cosmas is one of the pioneers who introduced Foreign Exchange Options and Derivatives in many markets in Africa including Tanzania, Nigeria, Uganda and Zambia.
Managing teams of professionals in multiple locations has given him a well-rounded perspective of finance, treasury operations and general business management skills. His ability to lead, manage and motivate teams of professionals in challenging environments has resulted in significant growth of the businesses he has led.
Cosmas holds an MBA in Finance and a Master of International Management (MIM) from Thunderbird – The American Graduate School of International Management USA as well as Bachelor of Commerce and Management Degree from the University of Dar es Salaam.
